Nick Rees is originally from Bath but was educated in Singapore and Germany before returning to the UK for university and teacher training.
After teaching in both a state primary and a preparatory school in Bath he worked in a British Forces primary school in Germany.
In 1987 Nick moved to London and started teaching pupils with SpLD at Fairley House School. He studied for his RSA Diploma in SpLD and a MA in Ed. He experienced the effects this type of difficulty has on the individual child, their education and self-esteem and the way this impacts on the family as a whole.
Nick was promoted to Director of Studies and then Deputy Principal when he studied for the NPQH, before becoming Principal, setting up an Upper School for pupils aged between 11-14 in 2000.
In September 2005 Nick became Head of Abingdon House, a new venture, taking pupils at a much earlier age, this early intervention being vital.
In 2008 Nick became a consultant for CReSTeD and visits schools as part of their new or re-registration. Previously he was a member of the pre-registration committee. In 2008 Nick also received training to become an inspector for ISI, The Independent School’s Inspectorate.
Nick looks forward to meeting you and working with you to ensure the success of your child. He sees this venture as a real partnership between school and parents, and therefore welcomes a close relationship.
