Parents

Effective communication with parents is an integral part of a pupil's education at Abingdon House School. The Head greets all pupils and parents each morning and afternoon, touching base with parents to inform them of the day. The home school diary is used to inform parents of homework and events and for parents to write messages to the teachers. Some teachers even send a blog to parents! The Head and other teachijng staff and therapists are always available via e-mail and in person and will always find time to hold a meeting outside of the regular meeting cycle. Regular Parent workshops are organised to discuss themes such as the school's IEP System, Homework Routines or Moving On as well as those related to therapy like fine motor activities or speech development. The school uses Clarion Call to remind parents of functions and any localised incident e.g. road closures through texting to their mobile phones or through e-mail for lettters and attachments.
