Invitation to all Abingdon House School parents

Hello to all Abingdon House School families!

I would like to invite you all to the first TIS Cyber Safety Parent Information Evening on Wednesday March 1st, designed specifically for the parents/guardians of students in the Cavendish Education Group.

My name is Matt Archer and I am the Head of English at TIS. My background, before joining TIS, was largely in the pastoral side of education as a Head of Year. Since joining TIS, I have also been fortunate enough to train as a CEOP Ambassador. CEOP (the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre) is the branch of government that works with law authorities to prevent, and respond to, issues around internet safety for young people.

The session will run for 1 hour and focus on:

Applications your child may be using; How to have meaningful discussions around cyber safety.

My plan is to run further sessions to give you all a more in depth understanding of the ever changing world of cyber safety. However, this first session will be a useful introduction/refresher for all.

The evening session will be held at TIS (W6 9AR), beginning at 5.30pm and finishing at 6.30pm. At the end of the session, I will happily answer any further questions you have.

If you are needing to bring any of your children with you, we are happy to set up a room for them to be supervised in during the talk. Please just let us know in advance.

Spaces are limited, so could we please ask you RSVP to Claire Essien either by email (cessien@tis-london.org) or call 0203 637 7574.

I hope to get a chance to meet you on the 1st of March.

Kind regards, Matt Archer
