New Head Teacher Appointed

Following a selection process of both internal and external candidates, a new Head Teacher has been appointed for Abingdon House School.

Ms Tanya Moran, currently Principal and co-Founder of The Independent School (a part of the Cavendish Education Group) in Hammersmith, is the unanimous choice of Governors and will become the permanent Headteacher from January 1st  2018.

Tanya is a Mathematics and Science teacher and specialist in pastoral care and well-being. She began her teaching career overseas and moved to the UK in 2004, joining The Harrodian School as a Head of Year and teacher of Mathematics, before being appointed as Deputy Head Teacher.

Tanya is also an original founder of Thomson House School, an outstanding Primary Free School in Mortlake, where she has an ongoing role as Vice Chair on the Board of Governors, link Governor for SEND and Safeguarding, and member of the Education Committee.

Tanya will make regular visits to Abingdon House in the interim period in order to get to know the children, staff and parents.
