Occupational therapist | South Kensington, Marylebone, Purley

  • Salary: Band 6/7 equivalent

About the role

In this role, you’ll deliver therapy and education programmes based on pupils’ individual needs at AHS. This will include preparation, delivery, and evaluation of support programmes, and delivery and assessment of pupil interventions in and outside of school. You’ll also deliver regular assessments and progress reports, and participate in appraisals and clinical and management supervision as and when required. In addition, you’ll contribute to and support all aspects of school life, helping with safeguarding both on the school premises and during school outings and other activities.

Special educational needs classroom teacher | Marylebone, South Kensington

About the role

This role would suit an enthusiastic and aspirational teacher who is either primary or secondary trained. While previous SEN experience or training is desirable, excellent teaching skills, interpersonal qualities, and a genuine desire to put the child at the centre of their learning is of equal importance.

You will be responsible for the planning and delivering of lessons in a range of subjects, and supporting students’ development of academic, personal and life skills. Therapy is integrated across the curriculum, and you’ll be working as a multidisciplinary team to adapt the curriculum and classroom experience to suit students’ individual needs. Classes have around ten pupils each and include mixed ages – generally across two year groups. Students are studying the national curriculum across Key Stages 1-4, and are working towards functional skills, BTEC qualifications, and GCSEs. All teachers teach across all subject areas for the Key Stage 1-3 curriculum, with subject specialist teachers for the Key Stage 4 curriculum.

There are opportunities for advancement in this role with the school’s further expansion, such as taking on SENCo responsibilities or joining the middle or senior leadership teams.

SENCo/teacher | South Kensington

About the role

This role would suit an enthusiastic and aspirational primary school teacher and SENCo with demonstrated knowledge of the needs of children with SEN/SpLD. We’re after someone with excellent interpersonal qualities and communication skills who is passionate about teaching SEN students.

In addition to teaching duties, you’ll oversee academic and therapeutic provision for an allocated caseload of students, ensuring adherence to pupils’ EHCPs. You will coordinate with teaching and therapy staff to produce and manage IEPs, oversee annual reviews, and deliver other necessary assessments; also liaising with local authorities and caregivers where required. In the case of trial students, you’ll assess their needs and feed back to the Admissions team to support their decision-making process.  Where necessary, you will also liaise with caregivers’ legal representatives to support appeal and tribunal processes.

  • SENCo qualification and/or previous experience working as a SENCo

About the role

We’re after someone with excellent interpersonal qualities and communication skills to be the first point of contact for the AHS admissions process. You’ll be in charge of responding to all queries promptly and effectively, and keeping enquiry records up-to-date and accurate. You’ll organise visits and tours with prospective families and other relevant individuals, and devise and roll out surveys for families engaged in the admissions process to help improve our systems.


Essential qualifications and experience

  • Previous school administrator experience

  • Admissions experience is desirable, though not essential
