Marylebone Senior School

Welcome to Abingdon House Senior School, Marylebone

At Abingdon House School, we pride ourselves on creating an environment where academic development and personal development go hand-in-hand.

Our specialist provision aims to reduce barriers to learning so that students have improved access to the curriculum and holistic outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team, made up of teachers, therapists, mental health experts, and support staff, provides an integrated therapeutic approach to education which nurtures all aspects of our students’ development.

We offer a range of qualifications from Entry Level Certificates through to Level 2 NVQ/BTEC and GCSEs in English, maths and biology. We recognise the unique learning profiles of our students, and so offer tailored support through personalised learning. This is central to achieving meaningful outcomes. Our students leave us fully equipped to navigate the outside world, transitioning to a range of SEN and mainstream destinations, including supported internships.

Academic development is just one strand within a multitude of areas that we aim to develop at AHS Senior. Our Preparation for Adulthood, Pastoral and Therapy teams look to develop independence, resilience, social skills, and life skills which will help our students grow into successful and fulfilled adults. We work within our local community and further afield to prepare students for the world beyond our four walls. These local links give us opportunities to support students to prepare for meaningful careers and motivate them to achieve their potential.

The AHS provision is one that closely mirrors that of a mainstream independent school with a full timetable and enriching co-curricular opportunities. The students have the chance to experience high expectations in a genuinely inclusive and nurturing environment, whilst also accessing enriching experiences that will live with them for the rest of their lives.

Our main goal is to work as a multidisciplinary team to create personalised, meaningful outcomes for all of our students. We look forward to hearing from you and inviting you to see how we are achieving this.
