Wellbeing & Mental Health

At Abingdon House School, our students’ happiness and wellbeing lies at the heart of everything that we do.

We are dedicated to delivering a whole school approach where positive mental health and wellbeing are fundamental to the values, ethos and culture of the school, empowering students to develop confidence, self belief and resilience through:

  • Dedicated curriculum time and whole school special events explicitly focussed on mental health and wellbeing;
  • Wellbeing focussed enrichment sessions;
  • Wellbeing and regulation activities integrated into all lessons;
  • Strong pastoral support, talk time and student voice;
  • Individual and small group mental health support;
  • Positive behavioural support;
  • Rewards, celebrations, and awards;
  • Support for referrals to external professionals where more specialist support is required;
  • Dedicated calm spaces for wellbeing and regulation;
  • A commitment to ongoing development of our approach in line with research and evidence based interventions.
