GCSE Results 2026

Posted: 20th August 2026

A huge congratulations to all our Abingdon House School students receiving their GCSE and Level 2 results today. Results day is a monumental milestone for every young person, but for our cohort in particular, it represents extraordinary personal growth and an ability to overcome barriers to learning. Today, we celebrate all our leavers for their hard work, resilience, and perseverance throughout the academic year.

Our students have truly excelled across the board this year:

  • Overall GCSEs: An incredible 75% achieved grades 9–4 (A*–C equivalent).
  • Maths GCSE: A flawless 100% pass rate at grades 9–4.
  • English GCSE: 67% secured grades 9–4, with 100% achieving grades 9–3.
  • English Functional Skills: A fantastic 100% pass rate across Level 1 and Level 2.
  • Vocational Qualifications: An impressive 95% pass rate at Level 1 and Level 2, with NCFE Sport seeing 50% of students achieve a Distinction grade.
  • Overall Achievement: On average, each student stepped away with six qualifications under their belt.

Our leavers tackled a wonderfully diverse curriculum, combining core GCSEs in English and maths with a broad suite of Level 1 and 2 qualifications spanning science, IT, employability, sport, travel & tourism, performing arts, music, media, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Head of Seniors, James Gilbert-Farrell, shared his pride in the cohort:

“I am absolutely delighted with our students’ achievements today. Each and every young person has achieved a deeply meaningful outcome tailored to their individual needs and abilities—whether at Entry Level, Level 1, or Level 2. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves.”

Following today’s triumphs, our leavers are preparing to take their next steps into a wide range of post-16 pathways, including specialised vocational training programmes and local colleges. We wish them all the absolute best!
